Anomaly in ReView:

I have been busy, reading, reading and more reading! I picked up a book awhile back while it was on sale and was pleasantly surprised and quickly addicted. Of course it was a series and down the rabbit hole I jumped. Curious yet? I’ll tell ya, the book is called Anomalyby Krista McGee.

It’s an older title so it had a throw back feel. Came with some nostalgia- the era of Hunger Games and Maze runner. If you’re looking for that feeling this is the book for you! There’s a dash more Sci-Fi than the previously mentioned series’, however not so much that it’s off putting if Sci-Fi isn’t your preferred genre.

Beyond enjoying a good Dystopian novel I really liked this series because it offered something the others didn’t. Hope, reason and faith. The Author writes from a Christian’s view and I appreciated the way she went about it. Not to much, not to little. I found it to be quite refreshing and thought provoking. You may not yet know I read a lot of Christian fiction as well as General fiction. I can admit that sometimes in a Christian fiction novel that faith comes off as cheesy or too easy. Well not in this series! I am not alone in that either. My book club friends who read it with me thought the same. McGee does a great job balancing. Plenty of edge-of-your-seat moments, ever so delicately paired with faith. It was truly beautiful. I found myself pondering the scenarios and fellowshipping about them as well.

I hate spoilers and I find I can’t get into too much detail without giving a few things away. So I will tread carefully here.  There’s a lot of genre coverage. A little something for everyone.

Yes, yes it is! There’s romance, science fiction, action and suspense. If you’re a little weary and tired of love triangles or romance, I understand. I get tired of them too. Some are done poorly or unnecessary. The love story and interest was again, well balanced. I don’t think I rolled my eyes once! That has to count for something right?

I think the story is suitable for all ages and book lovers! Give it a go and come back with your thoughts. I love to hear from fellow book lovers.
